Inspired by the circular economy point of view, Schut Papier has developed a line of papers based on cocoa shells that are a residue from the chocolate industry in collaboration with a French partner. The cocoa paper has a truly unique, luxurious and natural appearance and a distinctive tactile value that provide for a striking premium look & feel. Owing to this remarkable appearance, cocoa paper is a perfect match for luxury packaging applications for products of e.g. chocolate, confectionery and bakery goods or high-end graphical and decorative applications.
Cocoa paper contains a significant amount of cocoa shells and is available in a milk- and a dark-variety; a subtle hint to the cocoa bean and chocolate. Cocoa paper is made to order in various grammages, from only 2 tons. If desired, it can also be produced with grease-resistant properties.
