Schut Papier opens its doors to international talent: A warm welcome to Hannes and Tiaan!
At Schut Papier, innovation and technical excellence are at the heart of our work as specialists in fine art papers. To support our growth and address the shortage of skilled labour affecting the technical sector in the Netherlands, we have chosen to look beyond our borders to strengthen our teams.
Expertise from South Africa
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming two talented new colleagues: Tiaan Aucamp (25) and Hannes Schmidt (43). Originally from the Johannesburg area, these qualified technicians have chosen to bring their expertise to our production unit. South Africa is currently establishing itself as a premier pool of high-level technical skills. As Louise Braat from the Stavro agency highlights, the quality of training there is excellent, and the linguistic connection greatly facilitates integration within our Dutch teams.
Successful integration and shared values
The arrival of Tiaan and Hannes, organised with the support of the recruitment firm Xelvin, has got off to a flying start. For Tiaan, a maintenance technician, the adaptation was immediate: « From day one, I hit it off with my colleagues. They helped me with everything, even with registering at the town hall. »
Beyond the technical side—which remains very similar between the two countries—a true human adventure is beginning. While our new colleagues appreciate the quality of life and the organisation in the Netherlands, it is their personal commitment to learning the language and engaging with our company culture that truly makes the difference.
