At Schut Paper, sustainability is not an ambition-it is a standard embedded in every stage of our production process. From energy use to water management, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint while maintaining the highest level of product quality.

Our manufacturing

Our manufacturing approach is designed to optimise resources.

Water and heat used during the papermaking process are continuously reused wherever possible, ensuring efficient consumption and minimal waste.
We actively work to reduce our overall energy demand through ongoing process improvements and technological optimisation.
Renewable energy plays a key role in our operations. With 1,440 solar panels installed on our roofs, we generate approximately 25% of the energy required for our production, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy model.
We are engaged in a continuous improvement approach, investing in research and innovation with the objective of further reducing water usage, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.

As part of the Exacompta Clairefontaine Group, we also align with broader sustainability standards, including FSC® and PEFC certifications, which support our responsible sourcing practices—further details of which are presented in the dedicated section.
